To join a monastery, one typically needs to go through a process of discernment and preparation. This may involve visiting different monasteries, speaking with monks or nuns, and attending retreats or spiritual direction sessions. Once a decision is made to join a specific monastery, one would need to contact the monastery's abbot or prioress to express their interest and begin the application process. This process may include interviews, background checks, and a period of probation before being officially accepted as a novice or postulant. **
